Frozen Apple Pie Filling

Great way to make an apple pie on the fly

  • 18 large apples
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  1. Peel, core and slice 18 large apples.
  2. Put·apple slices in a pot with butter, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  3. Cook over very low heat 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Cool filling.
  5. Pour into three freezer containers. Enough for 3 9-inch pies.

  1. Add apples and return to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until apples are tender, about 6 to 8 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes.
