Apple Pork Balls & Sauerkraut
Crowd pleaser
- 1 egg
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- Dash cinnamon
- 1 medium apple
- 1/4 cup corn meal
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cups sauerkraut
- 1 cup sour cream
- Beat egg in mixing bowl.
- Mix in pork, nutmeg and cinnamon.
- Peel, core and grate apple
- Mix ingredients together and form into 2-inch balls.
- Roll balls in corn meal.
- Heat butter in frying pan, add meat balls and brown well.
- Reduce heat to low, cover and cook 30 minutes.
- Heat sauerkraut in saucepan.
- Mix sour cream in with pork balls, keep on low heat and don’t bring to a boil.
- Drain sauerkraut and place on serving dish.
- Spoon pork balls and sauce over top.
