Apple Pork Balls & Sauerkraut

Crowd pleaser

  • 1 egg
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • Dash cinnamon
  • 1 medium apple
  • 1/4 cup corn meal
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups sauerkraut
  • 1 cup sour cream
  1. Beat egg in mixing bowl.
  2. Mix in pork, nutmeg and cinnamon.
  3. Peel, core and grate apple
  4. Mix ingredients together and form into 2-inch balls.
  5. Roll balls in corn meal.
  6. Heat butter in frying pan, add meat balls and brown well.
  7. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook 30 minutes.
  8. Heat sauerkraut in saucepan.
  9. Mix sour cream in with pork balls, keep on low heat and don’t bring to a boil.
  10. Drain sauerkraut and place on serving dish.
  11. Spoon pork balls and sauce over top.
