Fish House Punch
Great for gathering
- 2 cups sugar
- I quart lemon juice ((straine(I lemon yields roughly 2 ozs. juice))
- 2 quarts dark Jamaica rum
- 1 quart brandy
- ½ cup peach or apple brandy
- Stir all the ingredients together. The sugar will dissolve in the alcohol.
This recipe comes directly from the Philadelphia Fishing and Social Club where it was created in 1773. Allow the punch to stand for at least four hours to mellow, and pray you will be able to do the same thing after you have tasted it. Just before serving, pour it into a large punch bowl over a solid block of ice.
